HOW IT ALL STARTED

Ali Cosentino is the founder of Strength Nation and a strong advocate for youth development through physical fitness, education and sports. In 2013, through efforts to create equal and accessible athletic development opportunities for all kids, she founded a charitable organization called Strength Nation. The goal was to remove the socio-economic barriers that prevent underserved youth from becoming involved in sports. Many children never get the chance to develop physical and athletic skills and improve upon natural talent. Ali believes that these simple human characteristics build important attributes such as confidence, self-worth and appreciation and respect for peers. Nurturing these values also develops life skills such as leadership, teamwork, kindness and independence that results in communities of people who contribute to society and empower others to be better humans.

To increase accessibility to more youth, Ali got a degree in ASL/English Interpreting so deaf/hard-of-hearing kids could also participate.

BREAKING BARRIERS

Strength Nation’s focus is to remove socio economic barriers that prevent many school-age children from participating in sports. Strength Nation invites every school age athlete to participate in professional sport development and weightlifting programs.

GREAT HUMANS

Our athlete programs empower kids by instilling values that will support their journey to be the best human they can. Our programs develop qualities like acceptance, encouragement, dedication, trust, teamwork, independence, kindness, self-confidence, empathy, leadership, and determination.

INCLUSIVE

The founder of this 501c3, Alison Cosentino, decided to pursue her ASL/English interpreting degree so that she can remove her own communication barrier with the Deaf community. School age Athlete & Sport development now includes Deaf students of all ages.
